Token Types

Exchange: a cryptocurrency that is native to its blockchain and powers it. It is usually used as an incentive for validators who validate transactions on its related blockchain. The related blockchain is a decentralized payment network designed primarily to allow payments of its corresponding exchange token.

DeFi: a cryptocurrency that powers a decentralized exchange ecosystem, a decentralized lending ecosystem, and other decentralized ecosystems except for payment ecosystems (these are included in Exchange tokens).

Utility: a cryptocurrency not included in the categories above and that grants access, discounts, governance rights, or ownership to a product or service.
